We recommend regular (usually annual) vaccinations for all dogs, cats and rabbits. Our team are more than happy to discuss the reasoning for this and to explain the levels we go to to avoid over-vaccinating. Unfortunately, we do see occasional clinical cases of the infectious diseases we vaccinate for. For us, the risk of over-vaccinating is often outweighed by the risk of whether or not your pet can overcome the disease itself.
With increased pet travel and imports of foreign rescue cases, we are starting to see more of the weird and wonderful exotic diseases in this country. Tick-borne diseases are one of the groups of diseases that are on the rise and, as such, we again recommend regular preventative treatment for this.
Advise on regular worming treatment has changed markedly in the last ten years or so, with the emergence of LUNGWORM in dogs. This nasty little worm can cause a range of clinical symptoms, from bleeding problems to neurological issues to respiratory disease and even death. As a result of this worrying presentation, we recommend worming monthly with a product LICENSED for lungworm cover.
