Arthritis is a chronic condition caused by the degeneration of normal joint tissue, This leads to pain and a vicious cycle of ongoing damage. Generally, it tends to be more common in middle aged and older cats. However, arthritis can also come secondary to joint damage or previous joint surgery earlier in life.
