We offer comprehensive cover for all your pet's needs.
Consultations & preventative health care

Our experienced team of vets offer consultations seven days a week; ensuring that your pet’s issues and ailments can be addressed as quickly as possible.  Whether you just want some advice or or have a specific concern you want to address, our vets will be more than happy to help.  There is no such thing as a stupid question – you know when your pet just isn’t right!

We also offer sound, sensible advice on preventative healthcare as we know this can be a bit of minefield to understand!  Let us help you to come up with the most appropriate care plan for your pet; covering vaccinations, worming, flea and tick treatments, microchipping and more.

Healthy Pets Club

Prevention is always better than cure! With this in mind, we have developed our very own Healthy Pets Club.  The scheme aims to simplify the minefield of preventative medications, providing you with a thorough, easy to follow plan for the year.

The Healthy Pets Club also allows you to split the cost of your pet’s annual healthcare into easy monthly direct debits; spreading the costs throughout the year.  We’ve included all the essentials: vaccinations, microchipping, worm and flea treatments, ensuring your pet is protected all year round.

Members of the club will also receive special offers and discounts on other clinic products – just ask a member of staff for more details!

Pet Passports

Planning an overseas holiday with your pet? We can also organise your pet passport to help you on your way!  Both our vets are accredited Official Veterinarians and will help you to comply with the Pet Travel Scheme rules and regulations.

At Pattenden Vets, we perform a vast range of procedures; including routine neuterings, lump removals, exploratory abdominal surgeries, caesereans and more.

Our state of the art theatre has been purpose built with our patients in mind.  Every pet needing surgery is closely monitored by a member of our experienced team; with the help of cutting edge monitoring equipment.  From the moment your pet is dropped off, to the moment you come to pick him up, we can promise that he is in the very best of hands!

Dental Health

Did you know -80% of dogs and cats over the age of three have some degree of dental disease?

Dental health plays a huge role in keeping our pets healthy and happy.  Our team of vets and nurses are ready to advise on all levels of dental care; from preventative care and specific dietary advice to surgical and medical treatment of a variety of dental conditions.

Our brand new clinic offers a separate operating theatre specifically for dental procedures.  Whether we are simply giving the teeth a good clean and polish or whether more complex extractions are required, you can be sure that we have your pet’s best interests at heart.

At Pattenden Vets, we offer a wide range of on-site diagnostic services.

We use a variety of imaging techniques in our work; including x-ray and ultrasound, and and are proud to offer state of the art equipment to help us perform these tasks. We have both an in-house lab and a courier service to an external lab to ensure all tests are performed as quickly as possible.

Our clinic also offers more specialised diagnostic equipment; such as an ECG and cardiac ultrasound for heart assessments and a tonometer, which measures internal eye pressure.

Nutrition is an essential component in the management of many conditions, which is why we stock a range of prescription diets on top of our standard food range.  Why not browse our food stand when you next come to visit? Our staff will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about our diets.

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to your pet is never an easy decision to make. At the clinic, we aim to make the experience as smooth and as stress free as we possibly can for you and your pet.  Our team are happy to discuss any aspect of this difficult topic with you or your family; from when you know the time has come to make that decision, to what happens to your pet after they’re gone.

Our bereavement room offers a calm and peaceful environment for you to spend time with your pet; offering you the privacy to grieve away from the main clinic area.  We work closely with Bowman Brothers, a local pet crematorium, should you wish to consider this as an option once you have said goodbye to your pet.

In some cases, your pet may require more advanced services than those that we offer within the clinic.  We work closely with several local specialist centres and will be more than happy to help you with the referral process should the need arise.  We are also lucky to have links with several travelling specialists in the area and will endeavour to keep the process as convenient and stress-free for you as we possibly can.
